We all have a light side and a shadow side. When we’re experiencing the shadow side of ourselves, that’s when we are in our pixelated fragmented energy, when it’s easy for us to fall into despair.

We have a loss of faith and our hope diminishes, and we can feel extremely oversensitive.

But on the other side of things is our light side. We have moments when we instantly remember who we are and where we came from. When our spiritual aligned, open and receiving, shining, bright self is vibrating with love.

When we can easily find all of those opportunities in life and be filled with gratitude.

We have those moments, and then immediately, instantly, almost at the same time, we can plummet into despair and forget all of that.

And we wonder, how can I can be so up one moment, and in the next, be so low?

That’s because we have these two programmes running side by side, we are yin and yang, light and dark, and they run together. This is why we really want to embrace that shadow side of ourselves, not just acknowledge that we have one, but really understand how that shadow side can control us.

It’s really easy to spiral down. In one hot second if I started to focus on all the stupid decisions I’ve made in my life, and all of the hurtful things and the guilt, blame and shame –  and just kept thinking about that, I’d be a crying, depressed mess.

But I do not choose to think of those things because it’s in the past. I’ve learned from my mistakes and woundings. I’ve transmuted the associated emotions, and gone up the spiral so that I’ve trained my mind to start focusing on things that fuel me.

I focus on things that I feel passionate about and that make my heart shine and make me feel happy, aligned, and make my vibration go up higher so that I can feel more joyful.

This is just a practice, and this is a choice, but most of us get stuck in these pixelated patterns. And when we’re living this kind of pixelated life, the traumas from our lives are not behind us, they’re front and centre! They’re there so that we can look at them, and finally say “Okay, well this sucks! I really want to heal this, I don’t want to keep going through life, waking up every day with a pit of despair in my belly. I don’t want to wake up every day feeling guilty, or sad or that ‘this is it’. I don’t want to keep blaming everybody else in the world for my unhappiness.”

The reason why we stay in this despair place is because that’s the vibration that we’re subconsciously putting out, and that’s what we’re drawing to us all the time.

When you can finally start to notice your patterns of thought, words, behaviour, that’s the gift of the contrast. It can be your best friend because it enlightens you as to what isn’t working, and what you really need to change in your life.

You can be that shining, bright, aligned self that hopefully you’ve all had moments of feeling when you’re in flow, when everything’s working out for you.

But when we’re not working from that brightest, shining light, then it’s very hard for us to find gratitude, or feel grateful or even notice all of the beautiful opportunities that life brings to us every single day.  Because we’re in that negativity spiral down, and we get stuck there and it’s hard for us to consciously and actively remember that there’s another side to this.

One of the secrets to why this problem exists is because most everyday people don’t even know what they’ve come here to this earth, to this life, this time, to do.

With lack of awareness, it’s easy to absorb all of that despair, and lack of hope and faith energy and all of those low vibrations. Look at the collective consciousness at the moment, the fear that’s all around us.

When we walk out in the street our energies are passing by and mingling with other people’s energies. If you don’t have a clear self awareness and know the difference between what’s your stuff and what is other people’s stuff, and if you have an affinity for negativity because of all those crazy perceptions that we made as children without all of the knowledge and rationale, then it’s easy to take on other people’s stuff.

So many people don’t even realise that they’re practising a negative flow, because that’s just their norm. Abraham Hicks even talks about momentum that if you’ve been practising a negative spiral down or been living in a negative vibration, it does build up a momentum, which then sometimes needs to play itself out before you can start attracting that higher vibration so that you can create a better, more proactive momentum that’s going to start bringing all good things towards you.

These things don’t happen overnight. That’s why it’s called a spiritual practice because we’ve got to practice! You’ve got to pay attention to what you’re feeling, thinking and saying.

It’s a choice; you can either practice negativity, over and over, and keep those neural pathways strong in your mind, or you can choose positivity, love, alignment and what feels good to you, following your truth, staying out of fear and focusing on joy. The more you practice that good stuff, that becomes your new momentum, and all of that shadow stuff starts to go from front and centre, to somewhere in the background where it’s not going to have its grip on you as tightly anymore.

Stuff that used to make me nuts, doesn’t even ruffle my feathers anymore.

So here’s three questions for you: If you knew that your success would be granted, what would you do with your life?

And here’s the second question: What does inspiration feel like in your body? Where is it?

And finally, if you have to choose one word to describe your soul’s spiritually conscious purpose for travelling through this life, what would it be?

Write those down. If you’re ready to allow your innate essence to shine like a diamond through the darkness, it’s time to release any limiting beliefs that you’re holding on to.

Really, it’s time.

And when we allow our innate essence, our authentic selves to shine, it is that very allowance where we draw the courage to express any and all unexpressed and unknown unhealed emotions. First, we have to allow ourselves to go there. We need to stop looking outside of ourselves, stop blaming circumstances, the world, our parents or partners, friends or various  situations, and start to go within and take responsibility for our own thoughts.
